Anyone with a passion for both and football, what more could you ask for than a spot in the annual Lancaster Elks Lodge No. 1478 Charity Golf Tournament? The annual event is Sat., Aug. 6 at Kis-N-Green Golf Course in Alden. Proceeds benefit the Trench Trophy, which honors high school football linemen, the John Gebhardt Memorial Fund, and other charities. The tournament is a four-person best ball scramble with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.
A charitable contribution of $70 per golfer includes 18 holes with cart, BBQ hamburger and snack lunch at the turn and free beverages per cart. Another feature is the John Gebhardt Memorial Scholarship Hole Challenge on the par 3 No. 13 hole. Proceed will help curb the cost of the Elk's annual $1,000 scholarship award in honor of Gebhardt, one of the organization's original members and most generous donors. A steak dinner will be included after the tournament back at the Elks in the main hall banquet facility.
Contributions to the program book are also welcome. Ad prices are: full page: $100, half page $50 and 1/4 page $25. Also, products, etc. can be donated to earn hole sponsorship. Anyone interested in sponsoring or playing should contact Carl Kuras at Lancaster Elks at 685-1478 or e-mail: carlkuras@yahoo.com.
