Benefit for basketball coach Joe Corey is May 3

A benefit party for longtime basketball coach and mentor Joe Corey is May 3 from 6-9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Buffalo Airport, 4600 Genesee St.

Corey, who is recovering from major heart surgery and dealing with complications from prior illnesses, was the head coach at Baker Victory and was an assistant at Buffalo State, Erie Community College and Sweet Home High School.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door or at joecoreybenefit.com. Sponsorships area available at the gold ($1,000), silver ($500) and bronze ($250) levels. Auction items are needed.
