St. Joe's-Canisius Saturday: Tickets, webcasts & more

* Tickets are currently on sale at both Canisius (info here) and St. Joe's for Saturday's 1 p.m. game. You had best get yourself to either school to purchase tickets (unless you are a current Canisius or St. Joe's student, who get into the game with a current ID). St. Joe's athletic director Pete Schneider said Wednesday that once the paper tickets are accepted, St. Joe's may have to turn people away. He said St. Joe's facility holds about 4,500 people.

* St. Joe's, as it does every week, will have an internet radio broadcast of the game with basketball coach Mark Simon doing play-by-play and baseball coach Paul Nasca on color. If you can't make it to the game, they are a very entertaining listen.

* Canisius has announced it will provide a live video feed via its CHS Sports Network livestream channel. The broadcast will also be archived there. The channel had a very successful debut for last year's Canisius victory over St. Joe's in basketball.

* Of course, I will be live blogging the game, play by play, right here at your friendly neighborhood Prep Talk blog.

* The game is again part of the Great American Rivalry Series. It is one of 72 games this season to be spotlighted (as was Lancaster-Depew two weeks ago). The winning team will recieve the Great American Rivalry Series Champion trophy, presented on field by a United States Marine. The game’s Most Valuable Player is also named by media in attendance and the series awards the top student-athlete from each school a college scholarship.
