We will be reporting live from Niagara Falls High School for the first of two great days of basketball at the Cataract Classic.
Tonight's tripleheader begins with Sweet Home meeting Niagara-Wheatfield at 5 p.m. Next up, junior standout Sterling Taplin and Williamsville North play Batavia of Section V (Rochester area) at 6:30. (I'll be starting the blog late in the first game).
The 8 p.m. marquee event of the weekend has Niagara Falls talking on a loaded Bishop Kearney team from Section V in the opener for both schools. Kearney has a huge front line, including 6-foot-10 senior and Syracuse recruit Chinonso Obokoh, 6-10 junior Godspower Ogide and 6-9 Thomas Bryant, who is one of the most highly regarded sophomores in the country. Check out James Johnson's story in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.
I'll have updates from the three games in the live blog below; I'll also have periodic #preptalkscores updates on Twitter that will appear in the blog.
If you want to chime in on the three games -- or if you are out at another high school contest (of any sport), your tweets with the hashtag #preptalkscores will appear in the live blog as well.
We'll be back tomorrow with the evening games of the Cataract Classic. The final game has the Wolverines playing Brunswick of Ohio. The entire lineup is here in part of our season preview.
We'll have a mix of football and basketball on PrepTalkTV Sunday at 8:30 Sunday at buffalonews.com, including the PrepTalkTV Plays of the Year for football.
