Live from the Pastor-Cooper Showcase: Wins for O'Hara girls, St. Mary's and McKinley

Hello from Daemen College for the third and final day of the Pastor-Cooper Showcase, the unofficial tipoff for the Western New York high school basketball season.

This final day is certainly the marquee day of an event which has had compelling matchups every night. At 5:30, we start with a fine girls showdown between Cardinal O'Hara (which made it to Glens Falls last year for the Federation Tournament) and Grand Island. At 7 p.m., the first of two boys games as East High of the Yale Cup meeting last year's Manhattan Cup finalist St. Mary's. At 8:30, another great Monsignor Martin-Yale Cup matchup has last year's Section VI Class A-1 champion McKinley meeting Bishop Timon-St. Jude in Joe Mihalics' first game as head coach of the Tigers.

I'll have updates from the three games in the live blog below; I'll also have periodic #preptalkscores updates on Twitter that will appear in the blog.

If you want to chime in on the three games -- or if you are out at another high school contest (of any sport), your tweets with the hashtag #preptalkscores will appear in the live blog as well.

We'll be back with live blogs from the Cataract Classic in Niagara Falls on Friday and Saturday nights. Niagara Falls has an oustanding matchup against Section V power Bishop Kearney on Friday while the Wolverines play Brunswick of Ohio on Saturday night. There is a great lineup of games on both days.

We'll have a mix of football and basketball on PrepTalkTV Sunday at 8:30 Sunday at, including the PrepTalkTV Plays of the Year for football.
