This afternoon marks one of the highlights of the season with the 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Classic. It is again hosted by City Honors and includes some great boys basketball matchups, with the marquee game pitting last year’s co-No. 1 large school champions against each other when current No. 1 Canisius plays McKinley at 2 p.m. (which I wrote about in my Prep Talk column this week).
The event starts with Hutch-Tech and St. Francis at 11 a.m., followed by East against No. 9 large school Sweet Home at 12:30 p.m..
Our scoreboard page has a schedule of today's games -- that same page will have box scores as games are reported to us throughout the evening (our apologies for recent malfunctions on the page -- our team are working to remedy the situation).
Keep track of the action and contribute to it as well in the blog below -- the easiest way to do that is to tweet updates with the #PrepTalkLive hashtag .
We will set up blogs like this throughout the winter, especially on big, busy nights -- we'll monitor games via not only our tweets, but those of high school sports fans and followers who use the #preptalklive hashtag.
While tonight is a busy basketball night, we want tweets from all varsity sports every day of the week. The #preptalklive blog (and hashtag) -- as it was during football season -- is the place to check out scores from all over Western New York.
