Today is a championship Friday and we have you covered at several sites: I'll be covering the Section VI Division I (large school) wrestling championships at Niagara County Community College (5:30 p.m.), correspondent Owen O'Brien will be at the Section VI boys swimming championships at Clarence (5 p.m.), News clerk/correspondent Nick Veronica is at the Section VI girls bowling championships at AMF Thruway Lanes, and correspondent Gene Kershner will report from the Western New York Girls Varsity Hockey Federation title game at the Northtown Center of Amherst (Lancaster/Iroquois vs. Kenmore at 4:30 p.m.).
It is also the last major day of regular season action for Section VI boys and girls basketball, the first day of the prestigious Lockport tournament in girls hoops, and tonight there are Section VI Division II (small school) boys hockey quarterfinals at the Northtown Center of Amherst.
As always, we're looking forward to your #PrepTalkLive updates on Twitter. I'm not working tonight but I've set it up ahead of time to display your updates.
Our scoreboard page has a schedule of today's games -- that same page will have box scores as games are reported to us throughout the evening.
Keep track of the action and contribute to it as well in the blog below -- the easiest way to do that is to tweet updates with the #PrepTalkLive hashtag.
We will set up blogs like this throughout the winter, especially on busy nights -- we'll monitor games via not only our tweets, but those of high school sports fans and followers who use the #preptalklive hashtag.
While tonight is a busy basketball night, we want tweets from all varsity sports every day of the week. The #preptalklive blog (and hashtag) -- as it was during football season -- is the place to check out scores from all over Western New York.
