Here's a link to a writeup of Nichols' 74-72 home win over Park in overtime Saturday.
Here's a look at some key plays. On the first one, Tanner Schmit does a great job to finish off a lob play while being fouled.
He ends up landing on Park senior guard Peter Schultz, and note how Schultz walks to the bench holding his arm -- we believe he suffered a separated shoulder on the play when Schmit landed on him. Gutsy stuff. He emerged moments later with a heavily wrapped shoulder.
My bad (chest tap) for not sticking with him on the video, I was enamored (as always) but the BOISTEROUS CALLS ON THE PA during Nichols basketball games :-)
Also notable: Park was able to tie the game up when Nichols inexplicably shot while there was no time on the shot clock. ... On the final play of regulation, the Park bench was upset that the clock had not started on time as Nichols had the ball, and you can see on the video that it looks like the clock started two seconds late.
A fun, competitive game. Seems like Park is playing short-handed as it appeared to have only two or three players on the bench -- and Fred Foster and Hunter Anderson did not appear to be dressed. Park's depth was tested when Schultz was lost for the game and Randy Golda fouled out.
