Prep Talk Player of the Year for girls golf: Chelsea Dantonio, Lancaster

By Keith McShea

John Hickey/Buffalo NewsThere are many outstanding resumes among the Prep Talk Players of the Year.

There are not many that can win a match of cards with Chelsea Dantonio of Lancaster

Dantonio has put together an incredibly impressive list of accomplishments -- and she's not even finished with her junior season -- which is why she has been named the Prep Talk Player of the Year for girls golf.

Dantonio won her third straight Section VI championship recently, which was also her fourth title in five years. She will compete at the state championships at SUNY Delhi next weekend.

At this year's championships, Dantonio shot a 5-over-par 77 at Gowanda Country Club to earn a four-stroke victory.

Last week she verbally committed to play Division I golf at Winthrop University.
