Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz delivered a nice update for Buffalo Bills fans, telling Associated Press reporter John Wawrow a lease extension for Ralph Wilson Stadium could be wrapped up in a few weeks.
Poloncarz told me in January that he wanted the deal done by training camp, although a politician's goal frequently proves to be wishful thinking.
But Poloncarz told Wawrow negotiations have progressed nicely.
"I feel there's agreement on some basic principles, and as a result I feel that we're headed in the right direction," Poloncarz told Wawrow. "We'll be meeting again in the future very soon, and it is my goal as well as the Bills' organization to have the general terms hammered out by the start of training camp."
