Buffalo Bills backup quarterback Vince Young is suing former agent Major Adams and former financial adviser Ronnie T. Peoples and his company Peoples Financial Services for misappropriating millions of dollars.
Peoples has responded with a statement through his attorney, David A. Chaumette of Sugar Land, Texas:
"Peoples Financial and Mr. Peoples are confident that there will be no liability found in this matter. During the entire time that Peoples Financial worked with Mr. Young, there was a trustee in place who approved all actions taken on Mr. Young’s behalf. That trustee, who was not named in the petition, approved the actions taken by Mr. Peoples' firm, including any financial decisions or transactions on behalf of Mr. Young.
"Simply, the suit is without merit, and we are preparing an appropriate legal response. Mr. Peoples is looking forward to telling his side of the story in court. Mr. Young's efforts to litigate this matter in the media show that his allegations are hollow and his case against Mr. Peoples and his firm is weak."
