MINNEAPOLIS -- Kickoff for tonight's preseason game between the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings is about 90 minutes away.
All week, I tried to avoid calling this place Mall of America Field. Yet here I am, surrounded by banners that say I'm at Mall of America Field. So be it.
I'm in my press-box seat at the 39-yard line, ready to see if the Bills' offense can rebound from last week's awful performance and if their defense can build on a solid outing against the Washington Redskins. This morning on the Press Coverage blog I posted some items to watch for tonight.
The Vikings are coming off a 17-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in their exhibition opener. One of the battles Vikings fans are interested to see is rookie left tackle Matt Kalil against the Bills' pass rush.
What a coincidence. The Bills want to see what rookie left tackle Cordy Glenn can do with right defensive end Jared Allen, who led the NFL with 22 sacks last year.
Star running back Adrian Peterson, recovering from an ankle injury, won't play against the Bills. Former Bills cornerback Antoine Winfield is expected to play after missing the opener.
