Poll: Was Merriman worth the try for Buffalo?

By Tim Graham

We've had a full day to digest the Buffalo Bills' decision to release pass-rusher Shawne Merriman.

We've heard from both General Manager Buddy Nix, head coach Chan Gailey and some teammates. We know the Bills gave Merriman $9.77 million, that he was here 21 months, played five games and recorded one sack.

We know he was hurt before he got here and got even more hurt while he was here.

We know he was projected to be a backup defensive end on this year's team, but we also know the Bills coaches had declared he still could be an impact player in passing situations.

All things considered, tell us what you think about the Merriman experiment.
