A collection of factoids about Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller's hot start:
1) He leads the NFL with 292 rushing yards heading into tonight's game.
2) His rushing total is more than twice the average NFL running back, 292-134. But he has fewer carries than the NFL average, 30-29.
3) He averaged 8.2 yards a carry in Sunday's victory over the Kansas City Chiefs and his season average went down to 10.1 yards per attempt.
4) He has the NFL's highest per-carry average after two games (minimum 25 attempts) since Jim Brown averaged 11.3 yards in 1963. Brown ran 35 times for 394 yards.
5) Spiller eclipsed the 200-carry barrier Sunday, making him eligible for the Bills' leaderboard for yards per attempt. He now ranks first at 5.41 yards, well ahead of O.J. Simpson's 4.80 yards. Fred Jackson is third at 4.63 yards.
6) Spiller became the fourth running back in Bills history to run for at least 100 yards in the first two games of a season. Jackson did it last year. Thurman Thomas did it in 1991. Simpson did it in 1973 and 1975.
7) Buffalo leads the NFL in rushing offense at 198 yards a game, rushing average at 6.4 yards a carry and runs of 20-plus yards with five. But Buffalo is tied for seventh in average attempts with 31 a game.
8) Spiller leads the NFL with four carries of at least 20 yards and with two carries of at least 40 yards.
9) Sunday was the seventh straight game Spiller has led the Bills in rushing.
10) If he can score next week at Cleveland, then he will have Buffalo's first six-game touchdown streak since Thomas in 1990.
11) If Spiller can gain 100 yards from scrimmage, then he will have Buffalo's first six-game streak since Thomas in 1992-93. Cleveland ranks 18th in rushing defense after games against Philadelphia and Cincinnati.
