CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns were steaming after today's game not only because they lost, but also because Buffalo Bills fans enjoyed themselves too much on the North Coast.
An impressive number of Bills fans drove west on Interstate 90 and had a blast despite the rain and blustery weather. Their team beat the Browns 24-14.
Toward the end of the game, Bills players waved their arms to summon loud cheers from the crowd.
"I don't like it," Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson said. "I don't like it whatsoever. I've been here for a long time, and I've never experienced that. And it's embarrassing. It's frustrating, and it's embarrassing.
"It's a shame that we weren't able to put out a better effort than we did."
Buffalo loyalists apparently could be felt on the field. A few Bills players made reference to their presence with postgame tweets.
"Great team win today!! #billsmafia had that stadium rockin like it was a home game #MuchLove #24hourRule then it's another big game #TurnUp"
"BILLS FANS TOOK OVER THE DAWG POUND! Last series, nothing but Bills jerseys in the stands!! I LOVE IT!!!!"
"Great win! #BillsMafia was so live in cleveland browns stadium. Best fans in the NFL!"
"Great team win today in Cleveland. Felt like a home game in the 4th quarter. Thanks to all the Bills fans who made the #LetsGoBuffalo"
Wide receiver Greg Little, who had a case of the dropsies, also was frustrated with the Browns' depressing performance.
They dropped to 0-3, while the Bills' happy fans watched their team move to 2-1.
"That pissed me off, and I take full responsibility for it happening," Little said. "You can only blame the players on the field, and I think we got to do more to change that"
