Mark Anderson ready to go for Week 1

By Jay Skurski

The nagging groin injury that has hampered Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson through most of the preseason is feeling better, and the Buffalo Bills' defensive end has proclaimed himself ready for Sunday's season opener at the New York Jets.

"I'm feeling good. I had a chance to rehab the groin, everything is feeling back to normal," Anderson said this afternoon. "It’s just a matter of going back out there, getting reps, and getting back used to playing fast."

Anderson gets his first chance to do that when the Bills take the practice field at 2 p.m. Anderson said today he's had groin problems in the fast, but that "this is the first time that it’s kind of been real sore. I got a chance to rest it, did some great rehab with it. The trainers got me going pretty good, and I’m ready to go now."

Anderson actually benefited from the long preseason. Despite missing the final two games, he'll be ready to go for the season opener. Still, he said the exhibition schedule can drag on.

"It seems real long. If you ask me, we could skip a couple of preseason games, but I’m excited about the season," Anderson said.
