Recent playoff history doesn't kick dirt on Bills

By Tim Graham

Buffalo Bills fans probably are looking for some sunshine. Here are some stats that might offer a couple beams.

After this weekend's game, the maximum number of undefeated teams will be 12. That means 20 teams will be 1-1 or 0-2.

In the 10 seasons since the NFL realigned its divisions, 70 of the 120 teams that made the playoffs (58.3 percent) began 1-1 or 0-2. That group includes last year's Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants.

As Bills coach Chan Gailey requested after Sunday's 48-28 loss to the New York Jets, "Don't kick the dirt on us yet."
