The Buffalo Bills re-signed safety Delano Howell today to fill their 53-man roster.
Howell, who was the only undrafted free agent to make the team coming out of training camp, had been released Saturday when the Bills needed to add depth along both lines by promoting defensive tackle Jay Ross and center David Snow from the practice squad.
Snow and Ross were released earlier today when the team announced it had re-signed Shawne Merriman.
Howell has been active for only one game as the team's fourth safety. Reserve safety Da'Norris Searcy suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's 19-16 overtime win over the Arizona Cardinals, but coach Chan Gailey said today he thinks Searcy will be fine.
