The Buffalo Bills' offensive line depth will be put to the test on their upcoming West Coast swing. Both left tackle Cordy Glenn and right guard Kraig Urbik will likely miss games in Arizona and San Francisco, coach Chan Gailey said this afternoon.
"I would say it’s going to be a week or two. It may be two minimum on both of them, but we’re not going to rule out the second game today," Gailey said. "I’ve not been very good about doing that lately [setting timetables for an injured player to return], so we’re going to say it’s probably two but I don’t know about that."
Urbik will be replaced by Chad Rinehart in the lineup, while Chris Hairston will step in for Glenn.
"It’s not your ideal situation, obviously, but we’ve got guys that we have a comfort level with, that have played in games, so at least maybe we’re ahead of the game compared to two years ago," Gailey said.
In other injury news, Gailey said Jairus Byrd suffered a bruised hip.
"It’ll take a few days to get it moving again, but I think he’ll be fine," the coach said.
Receiver Ruvell Martin, who's missed the last two games, is suffering from a left high ankle sprain. He ran today on a specialized treadmill, one that allows him to put less than his full body weight on the ankle, and is expected to go through another workout Tuesday. He'll decide then whether he can try and return to practice this week.
The average recovery time for a high ankle sprain varies depending on the severity, but can last up to several weeks.
