What it means: In a crossroads game, the Bills made a statement on the road. They bounced back from perhaps the ugliest consecutive games in franchise history and evened their record at 3-3 -- albeit barely.
Pivotal player of the game: Cardinals kicker Jay Feely kicked a franchise-record and personal-best 61-yard field goal with 69 seconds left to tie the game but missed a 38-yarder as time expired. He had a pair of 49-yard field goals in regulation.Bills star of the game: Jairus Byrd had a pair of fantastic interceptions, one in the fourth quarter and one in overtime to set up the winning field goal
Bills star of the game II: Defensive end Mario Williams feasted on the depleted Cardinals offensive line. He had a pair of sacks and might've had more if quarterback Kevin Kolb hadn't been so crafty.
Indigestible play of the day: The Bills appeared to be on their way to a victory with at least a field goal that would've made it a two-score game. On second-and-9 from the Cardinals' 36-yard line with less than four minutes to play, Bills coach Chan Gailey called a Wildcat pass. Brad Smith hung the ball into the end zone, where it was intercepted by Patrick Peterson.
What should've been the play of the day: With the offense struggling and Ryan Fitzpatrick inaccurate, Buffalo called for a Smith run out of a Wildcat formation on first-and-10 from Arizona's 17-yard line. Smith scrambled 16 yards to set up Fred Jackson's go-ahead touchdown at a time when a field goal probably wouldn't have done much good.
Stat line of the game: Bills running back C.J. Spiller ran 12 times for 88 yards and a touchdown. He added four catches for 22 yards.
Preliminary injury report: Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus hobbled off the field with an apparent right ankle or foot injury on the last play of the third quarter. He returned later on the same series. ... Bills safety Da'Norris Searcy left the game with an ankle injury.
Coming up: After nine days on Pacific time, the Bills will return home next Sunday to play the Tennessee Titans in Ralph Wilson Stadium and then go on their bye.
