The Buffalo Bills left two spots open on their 53-man roster Tuesday. This morning, they filled them.
The Bills announced they've signed cornerback Crezdon Butler from the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad and free-agent tackle Thomas Welch.
Butler was a teammate of Bills running back C.J. Spiller at Clemson. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Butler in the fifth round in 2010.
He has bounced around the NFL, playing four games with the Steelers as a rookie, one game with the Cardinals last year, two games with the Washington Redskins and one more with the Cardinals this year.
Welch, 6 foot 7 and 310 pounds, was with the Philadelphia Eagles in training camp but didn't make their roster. The New England Patriots drafted him in the seventh round in 2010. He played three games for the Patriots last year, starting one, and five games for the St. Louis Rams.
The Bills opened up the spots with some moves Tuesday, placing right tackle Erik Pears and cornerback Terrence McGee on injured reserve and releasing kickoff specialist John Potter.
