Mario Williams: Doctor told him wrist had 'a slight tear'

By Tim Graham

I'm coming to the realization people in the Buffalo Bills organization simply don't care what injuries the players have or how they're reported.

Two days after head coach Chan Gailey dismissed an ESPN report that Mario Williams played the first seven games with a torn wrist ligament, Williams told reporters he had a torn wrist ligament.

Asked specifically today whether the ligament was torn, Williams replied: "As far as I know. I don't really know all the lingo. I just wanted to get it done, whatever needed to be done. I don't know as far as exact terminology of it being torn. I've heard that myself, but I just know something was wrong."

Asked what the doctor told him, Williams replied: "He said there was a slight tear or whatever. I don't know the severity of it. But, obviously, it was something that caused me not being able to use it. You'd have to ask for the exact verbiage from the training staff."

So there you have it.

Williams supposedly traveled all the way down to Alabama to be put under anesthesia and let somebody cut on his $100 million appendage without much caring what was wrong with it.

And Gailey supposedly never heard anything about Williams having a torn ligament.

I'm satisfied.
