Here’s a look at how the Western New Yorkers and University at Buffalo graduates currently playing in the NFL did in Week 13, and how they've done so far this season.
James Starks, RB, Green Bay Packers: The Niagara Falls native rushed 15 times for 66 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown for the Packers in a 23-14 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. It was the 26-year-old Starks' first TD of the season. He has 71 rushes for 255 yards and four receptions for 31 yards in six games (two starts). He missed the first five games of the year because of a turf toe injury for the 8-4 Packers. Up next: vs. Detroit, 8:20 p.m. Sunday (NBC).
Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots: Missed his second straight game, a 23-16 win at Miami, because of a broken forearm, which is expected to keep him out at least the next few weeks. Gronkowski has 53 catches for 748 yards and 10 TDs this week. Up next: vs. Houston, 8:30 p.m. Monday (ESPN).
Doug Worthington, DT, Washington Redskins: The Buffalo native has appeared in two games for Washington this season, making a pair of tackles in Week Four. He’s been inactive the past four games, including Monday's 17-16 win over the New York Giants. Worthington joined the Redskins’ active roster from their practice squad prior to Week Three. Up next: vs. Baltimore, 1 p.m. Sunday.
Brett Kern, P, Tennessee Titans: Punted six times for 303 yards in a 24-10 loss to Houston in Week 13. Kern, a Grand Island High School graduate, had a long punt of 70 yards and a net average of 39.3 on those six punts for the 4-8 TItans. He’s averaging 48.6 yards on his 56 punts this season. Up next: at Indianapolis, 1 p.m. Sunday.
Corey Graham, DB, Baltimore Ravens: The sixth-year pro from Buffalo made his fourth straight start for the Ravens on Sunday, finishing with a season-high 11 tackles and his second interception of the season in a 23-20 loss to the Steelers. For the season, Graham has 41 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and six passes defensed. Up next: at Washington, 1 p.m. Sunday.
Mike Williams, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Buffalo native has started all 12 games this season for the 6-6 Bucs, with 43 catches for 718 yards and six touchdowns. Williams finished with six catches for 93 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 31-23 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Up next: vs. Philadelphia, 1 p.m. Sunday.
Chris Gronkowski, FB, Denver Broncos: Has appeared in all 12 games for the 9-3 Broncos, making his first career catch for Denver in Week Three against Houston. Did not record any statistics in Denver’s 31-23 win over Tampa Bay in Week 13. Up next: at Oakland, 8:20 p.m. Thursday (NFL Network).
Josh Thomas, CB, Carolina Panthers: Had one tackle and one pass defensed in the Panthers' 27-21 loss at Kansas City in Week 12. Thomas has played in all 12 games of the season for the 3-9 Panthers, making 23 tackles and three passes defensed. Up next: vs. Atlanta, 1 p.m. Sunday.
Trevor Scott, LB, New England Patriots: With defensive end Jermaine Cunningham suspended and rookie Chandler Jones dealing with an ankle injury, Scott made the most of his first start of the season for the 9-3 Patriots, recording three tackles and two sacks in a 23-16 win at Miami. Up next: vs. Houston, 8:30 p.m. Monday (ESPN).
Note: UB graduate Jamey Richard is on injured reserve for the Patriots.
