Jairus Byrd headed to the Pro Bowl with C.J. Spiller, Kyle Williams

By Tim Graham

Make that three Buffalo Bills in the Pro Bowl.

The Bills began the day with zero Pro Bowlers. But a few hours after running back C.J. Spiller and defensive tackle Kyle Williams were added to the AFC roster as replacements for Baltimore Ravens headed to the Super Bowl, so too was safety Jairus Byrd.

Byrd, a few weeks away from the end of his contract, will replace nine-time Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed.

This will be Byrd's second Pro Bowl. He also was selected after his rookie season, when he tied for the NFL lead with nine interceptions, but couldn't play because he was injured.

"I'm just really excited and I thank God for the opportunity," Byrd said in a comment released by the team. "It'll be really special to join my teammates C.J. and Kyle in Hawaii.

"I'm looking forward to playing in the game and the entire experience because I didn't get a chance to do so in my rookie year. It'll be fun to experience the Pro Bowl for the first time."

Byrd was second on the Bills with 70 tackles and led them with five interceptions. He tied for the team lead with three forced fumbles and two recoveries. He had six pass breakups.
