At the NFL owners meetings today in Phoenix, new Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone delivered his first comments on the club's decision to release quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Marrone didn't offer much:
"I have a lot of respect for Ryan, and really appreciate the things that he's done. For me, I like to focus in on the players that we have on the roster, and we really don't talk about the players who aren't on the roster. But I wish Ryan the best of luck.
"How everything went down, and decisions and everything, I'm probably not the best person to talk about that. I don't really know."
Marrone was even more sheepish on the topic of adding another quarterback. The Bills have Tarvaris Jackson and Aaron Corp on the roster:
Buddy Nix "would be a better person to talk to about that, to get everything. But there are a lot of situations, whether it's free agency, trades, draft ... There are still a lot of [options] out there, and on a daily basis you talk about what's going on, and you have communication and discussions and you go through the whole process."
