Mock drafts are about as accurate as a carnival air gun.
And the industry's godfather views 2013 more aimless than the rest.
"This is the craziest, most unpredictable draft I've covered in 35 years," ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper said Monday in revealing his latest mock draft top five.
- 1. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M tackle
- 2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Eric Fisher, Central Michigan tackle
- 3. Oakland Raiders: Sharrif Floyd, Florida defensive tackle
- 4. Dee Milliner, Alabama cornerback
- 5. Detroit Lions: Ezekiel Ansah, Brigham Young defensive end
Kiper supposes the Buffalo Bills could have the opportunity to select the best quarterback in this year's draft class, West Virginia's Geno Smith, with the eighth pick.
Kiper stressed, however, that he considers no quarterback deserving of high first-round territory.
"This is a hard one for me," Kiper said, "because everybody you talk to -- and I know what I see; I'm thinking 20 to 32 for Geno Smith -- but everybody says, 'Well, somebody's going to reach. Somebody's going to overdraft for that quarterback.' Only two teams could do that. That'll be Arizona at 7 or Buffalo at 8.
"Doug Marrone, coming from Syracuse, has Ryan Nassib in this draft. You look at Ryan Nassib maybe in Round 2. Does Geno Smith go to Arizona with the seventh pick overall? It would be a stretch. It would be a reach."
