An NFL job fair is taking place in Ryan Fitzpatrick's
backyard, and it sounds like he's taking advantage of it.
Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson reports from the annual NFL owners meetings in Phoenix that Fitzpatrick has met with his former team. NFL Network reporter Kimberly Jones tweeted Fitzpatrick also has spoken with the Tennessee Titans.
NFL.com ranks Fitzpatrick the best quarterback still available in free agency.
Hobson spotted Fitzpatrick chatting with Bengals coach Marvin Lewis at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, where the owners meetings are being held. Fitzpatrick is from nearby Gilbert, Ariz.
The story also said "there were indications" Fitzpatrick had met with Bengals president Mike Brown. Fitzpatrick was Cincinnati's backup for two seasons, but started a dozen games for the injured Carson Palmer in 2008.
The Titans might merely be researching possibilities in case backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck declines to restructure his contract and take a pay cut, as Fitzpatrick refused to do last week before getting cut by the Bills. Hasselbeck's base salary this year is $5.5 million.
