The Buffalo Bills will open the 2013 exhibition schedule on the road against quarterback Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.
The next week the Bills play at home against Minnesota. The third exhibition is on the road against the Washington Redskins. The exhibition finale is at home against the Detroit Lions. It will be the 33rd preseason meeting between the Bills and Lions and the 12th straight summer the two teams have played.
The Bills might get some good work on their run defense in the preseason. Washington ranked No. 1 in the NFL in rushing last season and Minnesota was No. 2. Of course, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, coming off major knee surgery, and Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, are not likely to see much preseason action.
The exact dates for the games have not yet been set, although the Detroit game is likely to be a Thursday night.
For the record, the range of possible weekend dates for the games are: Aug. 8-11 at Indianapolis; Aug. 15-19 Minnesota; Aug. 22-25 at Washington; Aug. 29-30 Detroit.
