Bills sign undrafted QB Jeff Tuel and WR Brandon Kaufman

By Tim Graham

Buffalo Bills General Manager Buddy Nix declared he wanted another quarterback, and his staff didn't waste time locating one after the draft.

The Bills already have signed undrafted Washington State quarterback Jeff Tuel as well as Eastern Washington receiver Brandon Kaufman.

Those signings were confirmed for The Buffalo News by their agent, Cameron Foster.

"They should've been drafted," Foster said. "They're a little disappointed. I felt Jeff should have been a fifth- or sixth-round pick, but unfortunately it shook out the way it did."

Tuel was among the nine quarterbacks who visited One Bills Drive this month. He completed 63.5 percent of his throws last year for 2,087 yards and eight touchdowns with eight interceptions. Tuel runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.

USA Today also has reported tonight the Bills have signed former Tennessee receiver Da'Rick Rogers.
