Lowdown: Toilolo comes from a decorated athletic family. He’s got three uncles who played in the NFL, his sister ran track at Utah, and they’ve got several cousins who played football, basketball and volleyball in college. Toilolo was a four-star high school recruit who, not surprisingly given his height, was also a basketball star. He actually beat out Coby Fleener, a first-round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2012, for the starting tight end job in the 2010 season, but a knee injury (torn ACL) in the season opener ended his year. … Toilolo's obvious advantage is his size. He’s a fluid athlete and good jumper for a man his size, providing a distinct advantage in the red zone on jump balls.

Toilolo's height can work against him as a blocker, as he frequently doesn't get low enough and allows defenders to drive him back. He's also bothered by jams at the line of scrimmage. … Will have to get much more consistent to be an NFL starter.

He said it: "I think any young tight end growing up watches Tony Gonzalez. For me, I enjoy watching Antonio Gates just being from San Diego. Recently, Rob Gronkowski, just for a guy his size. He has a similar stature to mine and to see the success that he’s having. At the same time I enjoy watching all tight ends and just kind of seeing what techniques they use, what works for them and whether they are successful if they run certain routes." -- Toilolo, on who he patterns his game after
