Lowdown: Means impressed scouts at UB’s pro day by running the 40-yard dash in the range of 4.6 seconds. He played defensive end at UB, but translates to an outside linebacker in the NFL. … Took over as a starter midway through his redshirt freshman season and went on to start 43 games with the Bulls. … Flashes good burst off the edge as a pass rusher. Finished fourth in program history with 18.5 career sacks. … Has good awareness and can make plays away from the line of scrimmage. … Can possibly be a big contributor on special teams at the NFL level. Means blocked three kicks for the Bulls as a senior, and finished with five in his career.

Means was a two-time All-Western New York selection while playing at Grover Cleveland. In his senior year he had 108 tackles, 20 sacks, an interception and five forced fumbles. … Was also an accomplished track and field athlete and basketball player in high school.

He said it: “I felt like I tested pretty good with the scouts. The way I'm holding my weight and the way I'm moving, they were real impressed by that.” – Means, on his performance at his pro day last month.
