Buffalo Bills hit six-week break: Have fun, but not too much fun

By Tim Graham

The Buffalo Bills wrapped up mandatory minicamp Thursday morning and don't have to report to training camp at St. John Fisher College until the last week of July.

So now what?

"This is not vacation time," Bills pass-rusher Mario Williams said. "You can take a trip or whatever. That's fine. But this six weeks that everybody has is not just go home and eat Doritos."

Rookie head coach Doug Marrone delivered some instructions to his players before they parted ways.

"A lot of the times," Marrone said, "you get up there and say, 'Make sure you do this. Make sure you do that.' But if you've been preaching all along, which we have, for our players to be professionals, you want to make sure they take this time because it is really a long period of time now, and enjoy themselves and relax.

"Enjoy their family. Enjoy their friends. Make sure when they do come back they are in condition, they are ready to go.

"The reason why is because we're accountable to each other. Don't think that the last part of what I just said is a contradiction to the first part. I mean that. Come back here ready to go."
