Unemployed former Buffalo Bills starter Trent Edwards reportedly will be one of three quarterbacks the Chicago Bears bring in this week for a tryout.
Captain Checkdown, however, isn't the headliner. Not even close.
The Bears are taking a look-see at 2007 top draft choice JaMarcus Russell, considered by many the worst draft pick of all-time.
The other applicant for one of Jay Cutler's backup roles will be Jordan Palmer.
The Bills have direction at quarterback after drafting EJ Manuel and signing veterans Kevin Kolb and Tarvaris Jackson this offseason.
But, just for fun, let's consider a desperate situation:
Your team is about to open training camp, but a strange mold in the quarterback meeting room has sent everybody at the position to the hospital, where they will stay for weeks before undergoing a lengthy rehab program.
And the only two available quarterbacks are Russell and Edwards.
