Bills QB competition headlines AFC camp angles for

By Tim Graham

It begins.

Voluntary check-in starts today for Buffalo Bills training camp at St. John Fisher College.

This summer will be compelling, what with the new coach and quarterback competition and star contract squabble and all. capo Gregg Rosenthal ranked the 25 biggest AFC storylines. The Bills came in at No. 1.

"I'm fascinated to see coach Doug Marrone's offense in the NFL," Rosenthal wrote, "and I'm intrigued to see how quickly Manuel can adapt to the pro level. This is a legitimate 50-50 competition, which is rare at quarterback. Yes, the 2013 Buffalo Bills are interesting!"

A couple other Buffalo angles also made the list.

Kicker competitions came in at No. 25. As Buffalo News reporter Jay Skurski wrote this week, veteran Rian Lindell is going toe to toe with a formidable challenger in sixth-round pick Dustin Hopkins.

No. 19 on Rosenthal's list is the Baltimore Ravens' cornerback battle between Turner-Carroll grad Corey Graham and 2011 first-round pick Jimmy Smith.
