Kevin Kolb excused, seven others will sit out Bills scrimmage

By Mark Gaughan

PITTSFORD -- Quarterback Kevin Kolb will not be in attendance at the Buffalo Bills' scrimmage at St. John Fisher College this evening.

Kolb has been excused from practice due to a death in the family. Rookie EJ Manuel will take the snaps with the first team during the practice. Rookie Jeff Tuel will work with the second and third teams.

Seven other Bills nursing injuries or coming back from injuries will sit out the practice. They are Stevie Johnson, Kevin Elliott, Justin Rogers, Duke Williams, Chris Hairston, Mike Caussin and Kyle Williams.

Expected to be limited in the scrimmage are C.J. Spiller, Scott Chandler and Mario Williams. Chandler is coming back from offseason knee injury. Mario Williams is coming back from a sore foot. Spiller is not hurt. The Bills simply will give other backs more snaps.
