The Buffalo Bills are offering a $15 discount on tickets for Sunday's game and the other three home games in Orchard Park remaining on the schedule.
The Bills are at risk of becoming the first team in the league to have a blackout this season, because there are about 7,000 tickets left for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bills have until 1 p.m. Thursday to sell out in time for the local television blackout to be lifted. The Bills have talked to the NFL about getting an extension of that deadline, team President Russ Brandon said today. However, the team needs to be close enough to selling out to make an extension worthwhile. The team's online promotion says tickets are "up to" $15 off.
If the Bills get close enough to a sellout, within a couple thousand, they typically can strike a deal with an advertiser or television station to buy up the remaining tickets. Still, the Bills are a long way from getting the blackout lifted.
There are about 7,500 tickets left for the home game against Kansas City on Nov. 3. There were more than 10,000 tickets left for the final two home games, the Bills reported last week. Those are Nov. 17 against the Jets and Dec. 22 against Miami.
