Lewis stays in game after early injury

Bills quarterback Thad Lewis stayed in the game after taking a hard hit from linebacker David Hawthorne on a keeper on the first play from scrimmage. He fumbled on the play and the Saints recovered on the 22.

Lewis stayed down after the hit and backup Jeff Tuel began warming up. Lewis was escorted off the field and looked unsteady but did not miss any plays.

The Saints missed a field goal after the fumble.

Lewis later fumbled again while being sacked and the Saints turned it into a Drew Brees touchdown pass.
