Bills receiver Stevie Johnson is glad to have a week off. After sitting out Sunday's win over the New York Jets, he now gets two full weeks to rest his strained groin before even beginning preparations for the next game, against Atlanta on Dec. 1.
"In my situation it’s definitely a good time for the bye week," Johnson said. "It gives me another week to try to strengthen my core and get these little nagging injuries out of the way so hopefully I can come back and make a strong push for these next five."
Johnson said he feels good about his chances of facing the Falcons.
"I’ll definitely be suited up," he said. "I think I’ll be much better than what I was the past week."
Johnson has 41 catches for 471 yards on the season. With five games left, he's a long-shot to keep his streak of three straight 1,000-yard seasons going. At his current pace (he has missed two games), he would finish with 732 yards. However, it's not impossible he could average 100 yards receiving over a five-game stretch.
