Weekend walks promote fitness

Those interested in getting fit later in the week have two organized chances on Saturday, thanks to the nonprofit Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo.

Both walks are part of the Be Active Erie County spring series and include health fairs.

The first starts at 9 a.m. with a mini-health fair in the Field House at Emery Park, Elma, followed by a walk start at 9:45 a.m.

A health fair starts at 10 a.m. at Greater Emmanuel Temple Church, 151 Richmond Ave., Buffalo and the walk from the church starts at noon. For more information, call 882-2700.

Both walks will be led by the Wellness Institute’s Phil Haberstro.
