Norm Orlowski Jr. will be chairman of the Western & Central New York Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 25th Anniversary Gelatin Splash.
Orlowski, president of Erie and Niagara Insurance Association, has been a society board member since 2004 and has served as both chapter president and delegate to the national board of representatives. The chapter honored him in February as its “Service to Mankind” recipient for his long-term dedication and tireless efforts to cure leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and Hodgkin’s disease, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The Gelatin Splash, which will take place at 6 p.m. June 12 at Banchetti By Rizzo’s in Amherst, is a fundraising event where participants “splash” into 1,000 gallons of gelatin in honor of or in memory of a local cancer patient.
Each participant raises a minimum of $400. Admission is free for spectators. For more info, visit lls.org/wcnygelatinsplash or call 834-2578.
