Great post Trebor. That will show him! While we're at it, we should set the arena on fire, kidnap Larry Quinn and hold him for ransom, and then everyone can overdose on Nyquil and die quietly on Perry Street....
OR
We could really look at the situation logically and see that Buffalo is 4 mill under the cap with Miller's contract up next year. Guess what --- Miller is going to get a $4 mill raise. If we had given Campbell a $4 mill raise, Miller walks. Not sure about you, but yesterdays decision was right on the money by the Sabres. There IS a salary cap. We're surprisingly close to it. We need to be smart in how we spend our money.

For those of you who really want to protest...here's an idea.
Pick a game next month and have every fan wear the jersey of their favorite departed star ( Soupy, Dru, Danny, JP, Grier, Mckee-you pick) and during the National Anthem everyone stands with their backs (and name plates) to the ice so Mr G can see them.
At the end of the first period...everyone walks out to the Plaza...strips off the jersey and puts them into a pile.....and safely, burn them.. Then we go home....let Mr G know just what a near empty HSBC feels like....and maybe THEN he will change his mind and try to win us a Stanley Cup.
It is hard to beleive he is so willling to be be remembered as the guy who bought an NHL team with nothing but fiscal responsibilty in mind....but then again, he has never said the words we all wanted to hear...
"Our goal is to win the Stanley Cup."
That is obviously not his goal, so why should fans be expected to support his team any more than the effort he puts in to win.
Ryan....we'll really miss you too.

Who cares, another underachiever.
If he turns his game around in a few years, they won't be able to afford him.

He's 22. I am willing to wait a little for him to figure it out. I think he could end up being a big asset for the team, a player like Gaustad, but with more skill.

Bernier was moved because he has the potential to become a nasty forward who could chip in 20-25 goals, qualities that few teams can give up without regret. But as a young player, he was dogged by inconsistency, and his work ethic was a source of friction with coach Ron Wilson. Straight from the coaches mouth.

Click on the recent videos link. No one will replace Campbell on the blue line. But Bernier gives the Sabres another big body with good hands. He reminds me of Stafford and Vanek. Let's hope he gets that scoring touch back real soon.

Hey Tom wake up buddy.... If we keep and sign Campbell you can say good bye to Miller and I know your not that much of a rockhead to think the Sabres should allow that. As far as getting a 1st round talent that needed a change of scenery and another first rounder for the rental player San Jose got, I think the Sabres have put themselves in good position to keep the current core together while still bringing in new talent. Campbell was a liability on defense and the penalty kill, you can not pay that much money to a d-man who can't fulfill those minutes for the team.

Great!
The 12-16 year old girls that Quinny markets this team to will love the addition of Bernier.
"He has those dreamy eyes...just like Taylor Pyatt!"
I'm going to go down some of my stepmother's cheap gin, put on my President's Trophy T-shirt, play "Rock'em Sabres" on my Fischer cassette deck, and cry myself to sleep.
