Pick your captain for March

A Sabres spokesman said this morning that Lindy Ruff is not going to decide on his captain for March until about an hour before tonight's game against Detroit.

So who would you pick? Paul Gaustad? Jason Pominville? Henrik Tallinder?

Here's one to ponder: Thomas Vanek made the guarantee the Sabres would finish in the top eight and make the playoffs. He's got 27 goals and has been playing up to his salary lately. How about giving Vanek the "C" for the playoff push?

totally agree with the comment below. he's finally playing well, we dont want anything to screw it up. keep him just how he is. scoring goals.

I think giving the "C" to Vanek would put too much pressure on him. I'd give him an "A" to show that I recognize his hard work, and then let someone who is a little older and can handle the pressure better wear the "C".

Vanek puts enough pressure on himself - adding pressure with the "C" may be too much. I think it's about time Gaustad got a letter. What does a Goose have to do to get some recognition around here?
