The setup at Wrigley

Wrigley_3Courtesy of the Chicago Tribune Web site, here's a look at what the rink might look like in Wrigley Field for the Hawks-Wings game on Jan. 1 (click picture for a bigger image). The press conference announcing the game was held Tuesday, and NHL officials said they're still pondering the rink's exact location.

I'm wondering if they shouldn't move it closer to home plate where more seats are. With it set up in the outfield, those folks in the baselines and behind home plate will be a looooooooong way away.

However, I get it that there's issues of making sure not to damage the field too much for next April's baseball opener. At least they should have plenty of time to make good ice, unlike the rush job the league was forced into at the Ralph.

They should put it right between 1st and 3rd base. Then it will be closer for most people then it was at the Ralph.

Football stadiums make more sense.

This is going to be horrible the lay out sucks the views will be terrible.
