Never too early to think about '10
So we're in Olympic mode and Sully is even over in Beijing. But that doesn't mean it's too early to think about 2010 and the Vancouver Games that might be the NHL's last foray into the world of gold, silver and bronze.
I'm sure we're all going to be paying a lot of attention down the road to a Team USA roster almost certain to include Patrick Kane (and Ryan Miller has to be a key candidate this time, right?). And a couple days ago, SI.com writer Allan Muir put out a pretty in-depth look at the potential Team Canada roster.
Crosby, Iginla, Heatley, Lecavalier, Nash, Toews, maybe Sakic, Phaneuf, Luongo. Wow. Seems pretty stacked. Muir has Derek Roy and Brian Campbell on the outside looking in at this point but Roy's impressive performance in the World Championships last spring certainly turned plenty of heads. Plenty of time for his stature to continue to rise.
