Bulletin: Rivet out

Sabres spokesman Mike Gilbert just announced that Craig Rivet is out of the lineup tonight with an upper-body injury. So that means Nathan Paetsch will be in. Thinking Rivet's issue might be knee-related, I asked Gilbert to repeat the update and he said it was definitely upper body and not related to the knee.

Rivet played 20:48 Saturday in Montreal and was on the ice as normal for today's morning skate so this is a surprise. Have to see what Lindy Ruff has to say in the postgame news conference.

Chad,

I completley agree but Goose is better at scowling than scrapping.

Won't happen until Ruff "orders" it. Given that Tommie G deplores this kind of conduct, can't see it hapnin.

There are ways of doing this so, we'll see.

BTW, Ruff has been much more passionate lately. Keep it up my friend.

BTW, this IS A PERFECT TIME TO MAKE VANEK CAPTAIN!!!!!

That's bad news. I'm hoping someone goes after Scott Nichol. If you remember last year's game, Gaustad wanted Nichol badly, but he kept skating away and the refs got in between them. I've never seen Goose so angry on the ice as he was then.
