BREAKING NEWS: Regier, Ruff coming back
The Buffalo Sabres have decided to keep their organization intact.
In a one-paragraph release on the team Web site, the Sabres announced that Darcy Regier and Lindy Ruff will remain with the organization that hired them in 1997.
"Tom Golisano and Larry Quinn today announced that General Manager Darcy Regier and head coach Lindy Ruff will return next season in their current roles with the organization," the statement read. "Ownership is very excited to have these two individuals return to help lead the organization back to the playoffs next season."
There was speculation about the job security of both individuals after the Sabres missed the playoffs for the second straight year and fifth time in seven seasons.
