Sabres' rookies Tuesday, vets Sept. 12

The Sabres' rookies and prospects will take the ice at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Amherst Pepsi Center to officially kick off the 2009-10 season. (Though some are already there, as you'll read in Saturday's Monday's Buffalo News.) The veterans are required to report to HSBC Arena at 8 a.m. Sept 12, the Sabres have announced.

The veterans' arrival will coincide with "PuckDrop 2009." In addition to the previously announced events, the Sabres will be selling bricks taken from the demolition of Memorial Auditorium. The bricks can be purchased for $49 and $69, and Sabres alumni will be on hand to sign the items.
