Tough practice
SUNRISE, Fla. -- So everybody started practice for the Sabres, but not everyone finished.
First, Tim Kennedy got the wind knocked out of him and got a brief look-over at the bench before returning.
Then Thomas Vanek took a puck to the mouth, which left him fuming. He knocked over the row of water bottles on the boards, slashed Daniel Paille's stick that was laying on the ice, then dumped the stick rack when he finished practice. He broke his jaw last season and lamented he'll be back to eating nothing but soup this week.
Finally, Jason Pominville left practice early with a hip strain.
Sabres Good News Part 1: None of the injuries are severe, and they are all expected to play Wednesday.
Sabres Good News Part 2: They were out of the arena by noon and could sit on the beach if they wanted. After a cloudy start, it's sunny and 86, with a heavy breeze.

Hey Vogl, the stick was lying, not laying, on the ice. If you're unsure of grammar, ask Sully.
