True patriot love

Tyler Myers may have been born in Houston, but he's a Canadian kid to the core. He enthusiastically played for The True North in world juniors and was thrilled to put that Maple Leaf on his chest.

So it was a bit of a treat that his Welcome to the NHL moment - a breath-shortening late hit from behind Thursday that left him curled on the ice - was delivered by none other than Captain Canada, Shane Doan.

"I didn't know who it was until after the game," Myers said. "It felt good, but then again it didn't feel very good."
