Kalinin at home in Russia
Dmitri Kalinin, the longtime Sabres defenseman, seems to have found his niche in his Russian homeland. The defenseman, who now goes by "Dmitry," has been named the Kontinental Hockey League Defenseman of the Month for October.
Kalinin had seven goals, three assists and was plus-10 in 12 games for Salavat Yulaev Ufa. That month topped many of his seasons in Buffalo.

Biron wasnt a world beater for NYI in game 1, so whats the big deal here? Kalinin is happy and playing well..good for him as well.

Agree with Stanley Cupless. I am certainly not going to get upset over a guy playing in the KHL who (a) would have a tough time making the Sabres' lineup now and (b) is not going to hurt us where he is. It is the guys we let go who come back to burn us that bother me. #43 on the Isles being Exhibit "A" right now.

@SIKET71 Nah, Buffalo has to obsess over former players once they are gone.

Just goes to show that the KHL is absolutely not the NHL.
